Obituary of Doucette, Josephine Mary
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Sunday, September 21st , 2014 of Josephine Mary Doucette of Charlottetown and formerly of St. Eleanors, aged 78 years. Josephine was born in St. Louis, P.E.I. to her late parents Benjamin and Katherine (nee Perry) Doucette.
Beloved wife of Wilfred Doucette and loving mother of Thelma (John) O'Donnell, Helen (Robert) Yeo, Donald and Rita (Steve) Dunn. She is also lovingly remembered by her 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brother Francis (Geralda) Doucette and sister-in-law Audrey Doucette.
Besides her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her son Raymond, brother Edward Doucette and sisters Louise (Arthur) Arsenault, Rita (Henry) Hustler and Doris (Alvin) Costain.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, September 24th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment to take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche at a later date. Memorial donations in Josephine's memory to the P.E.I. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only, 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
